since upgrading to el capitan i am not able to load photos to emails

I am trying to send a photo via email. I am not able to drag the photo to the email or load it as an attachment with my gmail or comcast email account. The only recent changes to me MacBook Pro is upgrading to el capitan. Any suggestions? Thx

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)
