I stupidly resized my partition on disk utility and now I've lost access to bootcamp. Using guides on here I managed to get boot screen to show windows. however, when it starts to boot up a black screen saying 'missing operating system' comes up
Any help / guidance on this would be greatly appreciated!
I'm not great with using terminal / gdisk but here's some info that might help.
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
The one I have is Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x86 - that would be great if you could?
I should be able to find one tonight at home and create an ISO.

Please test with https://www.dropbox.com/s/ohjbnwwxqfkr7yg/W7-64Bit-Repair-Disk.cdr?dl=0 . It is a .cdr file. You can rename it to .iso, if you want to.

No success unfortunately. I changed it to an .iso but when you mount it nothing's inside. I tried burning it to a disc as well to no avail.
You reckon it's time to format it?

Not yet. I will check the .CDR or create a new image and upload.

I'm happy to format the bootcamp and re install if that's easier. Would I need to do anything special to ensure it works correctly or can I just format the drive via diskutility?

No worries. I had much rather see a functional Windows installation. A virtual beer will do fine (Guinness works very well). 😉

I'm having an issue - When i boot from the disk it goes through the process where it says 'insert a disc - start in repair' and then i have the option of starting it in safemode etc.
Is there anyway to bypass this so it goes straight to the disc? When I boot my mac I've pressing alt and then selecting the start up disc that I've burnt.
With the CD inserted, if you go to System Preferences -> Startup Disk and select your Bootcamp installation (not the CD), it should boot from the CD. Please test.

Tried both disc's to no avail. It's saying they're not compatible when you start the repair.

The two Repair disks are pre W7-SP1, which may create a problem if you are on W7 SP1 or higher. I do not have an SP1 repair disk. Can you find a PC with W7+SP1 and create a Repair Disk?
