Hey all!
Problem:
I created a folder in iCloud Notes, and it will not delete no matter what I do, or what device I use.
Version:
I'm using OSX El Capitan & Notes Version 4.0 (535). The issue even occurs on my iPhone 5.
Have tried:
- Renaming the corrupt folder.
- Moving the corrupt folder to a sub-folder in iCloud.
- Moving the corrupt folder to My Mac account.
Has anyone experienced the above?
Spoke to Apple support today regarding my other problem (not able to sign-in anymore to old userid Junkdeck).
Their engineers are presumably working on the Notes folder-file problem. How fast is another question I can't answer. Evernote basic free version is a good substitute product for those who are looking for alternative.

Try to delete the subject inside the folder , then click on the trash icon on the top .
A pop - up window appears click on ok .
Opened notes application , you can see the message .
Followed this article iCloud: Delete a note
Have you attempted to sign out of your iCloud account, wait a couple of minutes, sign back in and re-attempt to delete said folder in Notes?

Tried this today, no luck. :-( Waited a good 10 or so minutes, and logged back into iCloud. Thought maybe iCloud.com could assist, but it only shows Notes, and not Folders.
Looks definitely like a bug. Perhaps the logs on my Mac could reveal a clue as to what's going on.
P.S. Notes are stored under my iCloud Mail account, right? Perhaps I need to delete it that way. Mail.app doesn't seem to show them.

I'll post the solution here once I find out more.
I created a folder in Notes and several (>12) subfolders below the main folder. I originally stored the folders in iCloud. Recently I moved them to my MacBook Pro disk. I tried to delete the original folders in iCloud, to no avail. I'm running OS X Yosemite.
Try deleting the stubborn folder in iCloud web...
Finally found this thread, I knew I couldn't be the only one. I have tried the same crazy stuff as you have, no luck. I'm waiting to hear back from Apple Support, they're involving the engineering team and I'm waiting on that.

Definitely doesn't work for me, the folder is still there after I refresh, but thanks for the comment.
Have you tried control - clicking on it and selecting delete?
Just tried that and still nothing. I've been right-clicking on OS X up to this point. Just tried Edit -> Delete too, no dice, as well as the delete key.
Try deleting from iCloud web
Then empty trash.
