Get error messages cannot syncc unknown error when trying to synce iPod touch to Windows 10 PC

My iPod touch will not sync to my PC. Error message unknown. Purchased music directly through iPod and can't get them on my Playlists in iTunes so I can manage playlists.

Is " unknown" the complete wording of the error message?

How far in the syncing process do you get?

What model iPod and iOS version?

What computer OS and version?
