stolen ipad parts

I had my Ipad stolen in July this year which was unblocked immediately. Today I received a message asking my to unblock as it has been purchased on ebay for parts. I have told this person that I will not be unblocking it for any reason and they are in receipt of stolen goods. They have advised me that the only reason they bough it is too upgrade the memory. My question can they actually use the memory for another device? And if so are they able to access any information from it?
