safari 9.0.1

I have a Sainsbury's Online Bank Account. Access to the account is fine via my son's iMac which is running Safari 6.1.6. It is also ok via a MS PC running Windows 8.1. When I try to access my account via my iMac which is running OS X 10.10.5 and Safari 9.0.1 it comes up with the error "Safari Can't Open Page".

I have spoken to Sainsbury's tech support and they say no one else has reported a compatibility problem. At their suggestion I have deleted Sainsbury's bank as a book mark, cleared internet history and ensured cookies are enabled. They have also suggested switching to Chrome, but would prefer not to as I am quite happy with Safari for everything else.

I am completely baffled and would welcome help.

If this doesn’t help, please run EtreCheck and post the report here.

Download it, open Downloads folder, click on it to open and select”Open” in the dialog to run it.

Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste it when you reply.

Apologies to everyone for not posting an update earlier. Although the suggested solutions helped to the extent that I could get past the account login screen I was still getting "Safari Can't Open Page" when moving around the account. Unnerved by this I removed all the money from the account and didn't think about it for months. I recently renewed my subscription to "Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac" and I have Version 9.1.1 of Safari installed. Out of curiosity I tried accessing my Sainsbury's account and to my surprise I didn't have any problem doing so.

I can't offer a reason why the problem has gone away, but I am pleased that it has.
