Avast started blocking Safari. Not sure what this is... tried looking into it but everything appears blocked. I want to uninstall but can't seem to get rid of it either. What do I do?

Uninstall Avast. it is worthless on the Mac. Then your problem is gone.
How exactly do I do that? I have spent an hour trying to get this off the computer... I cant find where it is located? I may have put it in trash...
Have you actually installed Avast at some point? If not, are you seeing this as a popup message in Safari?
If so, force quit Safari, then restart Safari while holding the shift key.
No... It must have been installed at some point... I thought It was automatically done when i did the El Capitan... I think I thought it was part of the Apple thing. I dont know... now tonight suddenly i cant access any websites... getting a block and a message saying my Avast Registration has expired... when i try to do anything I am blocked.

It keeps bringing me to the registration page... then a box that says "disconnect this deice" Then when I click that .... I get an error message that says the address can not be read.... then it sends me to the APP store to find some kind of app that can read the error?? Totally confused.
I tried.... It didnt work... it brings me back to the AVAST page to get a new reg key.
It seems like my computer is getting slow... I have to keep restarting it... and it is beginning to freeze... i just want some kind of system cleaner to get the files out of the computer... apparently I drug the ting into trash... I cant find it in the app file/ list.

I guess great minds do think alike...... Or fools seldom differ.
I tried on Safari and Firefox to download the etrecheck link posted... got blocked both times.
Avast blocking Safari says I need to purchase a registration key.
