Avast started blocking Safari. Not sure what this is... tried looking into it but everything appears blocked. I want to uninstall but can't seem to get rid of it either. What do I do?
MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)
But if I enter Time Machine... and see all the backup files... that means I am "backed up" correct? It dosnt HAVE to be to an external drive.
SUCCESS!!! After much snooping around... I went into my Network settings... and saw AVAST ... then I saw how it was set up... then I saw a settings icon at the bottom... and clicked "disable"... and that seemed to have worked! My other websites are back running now!!! Thanks for your help!!! I know I'm not the most tech savvy one out there but as they say..." Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while!!! " SO if anyone has Issues with AVAST... Go to Network settings... click on the Avast "lock" and it will bring up all the Avast info.... at the bottom is a small "settings" icon. click it and hit "disable" It makes the darn thing stop working!!! YAY!!!!

Never having had it install on my Mac and only seeing it on Mac owned by owned by others, I was not aware of Avast screwing around with Network setting. Now that you have found that, I will add that nugget to my arsenal of things to get rid of AV software.
Avast blocking Safari says I need to purchase a registration key.
