Why does Apple iMessage settings get turned on every time I upgrade an iPhone, iPad or mac? And how in the heck do I turn that off for good?

I am tired of the offing virus that is iMessage.

Every time I upgrade an iPad or mac, sometimes, even the iPhone, it turns back the iMessage settings on.

Maybe I should just say good bye to all products apple?
