Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Black screen

Bought Apple Mac book pro which arrived today.

Everything working fine. it then prompted me to update software which I started without any hesitation.

As it updated, the picture on the screen flickered between black and picture to finally completely black.

I have carried out all restart procedures but screen is still black

I am able to plug into HDMI and see picture on the tv but nothing on the mac, it brings to a reset login screen, but once I restart the computer I have the same issue of not being able to see anything on the mac but now also on the tv.


Any advice would be appreciated

If this is a brand new MBP and you purchased it from Apple, you may take it in for an exchange or refund within 14 days of the purchase date. If it was purchased from a reseller, their policy would apply but the MBP should be repaired.
