iMac with Canon MP280. Scanner Driver?

Question

iMac with Canon MP280. Scanner Driver?

Hi.

I have an iMac, running El Capitan 10.11.1

I am currently using a Canon MP280 printer/scanner, but I need a driver for the scanner. It should be a version of MP Navigator EX, but I couldn't find a source anywhere for a version of this that was compatible.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have downloaded and installed the above, but there is still no response from the scanning function on the printer.

Any further suggestions?

I did. The MP280 does not appear to be a supported model of that version of Navigator.

Meanwhile, how do you suggest I go about uninstalling all the other drivers tried so far?

Sorry. Still absolutely no success whatsoever.

All the requirements as in the attached pic are fulfilled, but no response when I command a scan.

You would need to temporarily disable SIP by booting into recovery mode:

Restart your Mac, while booting hold down Command+R to boot into recovery mode.
Once booted, navigate to the “Utilities > Terminal” in the top menu bar. Enter csrutil disable in the terminal window and hit the return key.
Restart your Mac and reinstall the Canon MP Navigator 4 driver above.
Re-enable SIP by booting into recovery mode again (cmd+R): Once booted, navigate to the “Utilities > Terminal”. Enter csrutil enable in the terminal window and restart your Mac.

Just a note to say that due to other factors we bought a new printer/copier/scanner, so the above problem is no longer relevant. Thanks for the advice anyway.
