Is a Macbook pro retina display 8gb good for video editing?

I want to buy the Macbook pro retina display with 8gb memory, 2.7 gigahertz speed, and 256GB Flash Storage. I want to work with imovie and final cut pro would this do for me. What should i get?

You'll not only want more RAM (at least 16 GB), but you need to remember that the general recommendation is to have at least as much empty hard drive space available at any time as you have temporary files in your project as editing/rendering requires a lot of space to write to. When I am working on a 1 hour HD project, I can easily amass 100 - 150 GB of temp. files. As well, since you will most likely be deleting those files once the project is finished, the more you use that process on an SSD, the shorter the life span will be as SSDs have a certain number of 'writes' to the entire SSD - I believe (but could be wrong) I read that it was around 1000.
