Apple ID death loop

Hi,

I've purchased a new ipad and did a restore from my old one through itunes. Have kept the same Apple ID on the old and new ipad. On my new ipad i want to update apps and it asks for the Apple ID password to an ID/email address not associated with my old&new ipad. How do i get rid of this? I've tried everything - reset all, signed out of everything (icloud, itunes store, messages, facetime) and signed back in but it keeps showing up the rogue Apple ID when asking for a password on updating apps. I'm fresh out of ideas. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Sean

P.S. Using iOS9.1

iPad 2, iOS 9.1

The id that should show for downloading updates is the account that downloaded those apps. Whose id downloaded those apps into that iTunes library (store downloads aren't included in the actual backup, an iTunes restore will look to pick them up from the iTunes library) - if you select/highlight one of those apps in the My Apps section of that computer's iTunes library and do 'get-info' (control-I on a PC ; command-I on a Mac) and select the File tab on the popup, the id that downloaded the app should show.
