Small bands are hard to find, we got our now 11 year old daughter a Apple Watch and we hav faced that challenge. I have found a better supply of quality after market bands out of Europe than here in North America but it’s been worth the extra shipping when they have size options and use the same material as Apple for their sport bands. I have suggested more than once that Apple needs to make bands for those with smaller wrist.
Hi
No, that is not possible.
Bands for the 38mm Apple Watch models are also designed for the 38mm case size, not the 42mm case.
Hi Becky
Any 38mm or 42mm Apple Watch band will fit an Apple Watch of the same case size.
To find a band of a suitable length, measure your wrist circumference and then refer to the sizing guide:
http://www.apple.com/shop/watch/sizing-guide
If desired, additional bands can be purchased as separate accessories:
I have this same question. What did you find out BeckyG321? I ordered the 42mm Apple watch 3 but the wristband is huge for my small wrists. I would like to know if there's a way to get the smaller wristband as well.
When buying a 42mm Apple Watch that includes a Sport Band, the band includes components that enable it to be configured for both S/M and M/L lengths.
For example, see under "What's in the Box" here:
If you're referring to the length of the band, you'll find that Apple in its infinite wisdom thinks that anyone who wants a smaller watch face must, by definition, need a shorter length band, and vice-versa. I've just received my new 38mm nylon sport loop band with a foldover hook-and-loop closer (think Velcro, only better). It fits my 7.5" left wrist fairly well, but my right wrist is bigger. If I want to wear my watch on my right wrist, I'd prefer to have a slightly longer band, such as the one made to fit the 42mm watch, but it's not offered. I've reflected that issue in a couple of reviews of the nylon sport loop. That issue would be a good one to submit to Apple Feedback@Feedback - Apple Watch - Apple
So if I have smaller wrists I have to get the smaller watch? I tried the small band on the large watch in the store with a apple tech person and it fit. Is this not normally the case?
