I can ping my network printer, but cannot print
I've got an iMac running OSX 10.9.5 connected to my home wireless network. I also have my Brother MFC 7820N connected via ethernet cable to the wireless router to serve as a network printer. From the Mac, I can ping the printer successfully, but I cannot send files to print. The files will sit in the iMac's print queue inactive for a long time. eventually, it will look like they are printing, but the Brother is not making a peep. The ping does seem to take incredibly long.
On the iMac, I can quickly get into the printer's config settings via a browser. From inside the config, I have not been able to print a test page (the file never even shows up in the printer queue).
I've also logged into my router to look for connected network devices, but I cannot find the Brother printer there; nor can I ping it from the router.
Here is the log from the ping inside Network Utility:
Ping has started…

I am pretty familiar with Macs, but am new to networking, and a complete noob at Terminal. Please type slowly and be gentle. Thanks.
