Question

Downloading support software for windows after windows installlation

I already went through the bootcamp process of downloading windows and its support software. Running windows on mac worked fine until a week later i force quit while in windows and i had to reset my windows to get it working again which trashed all my files. Because of this all of the mac support software is gone. I went back to mac and reinstalled it on my usb expecting it to automatically install once i go back to windows. That wasnt the case. I dont know how to get the support software from mac on windows and because of this my windows experience is hindered. PLZ HELP

If you are on El Capitan, you can download the BC drivers using

Other versions may also offer the same choice, using option "Download Windows Support Software...".

I suggest you connect your USB, and run the Download and leave it plugged in.

I try out this, too, but this don not work for me. After beginning download those stuff, BootCamp-Assistent tells me he is "unable to install the Software". I try it on stick, external hd's and local Macintosh HDD.

I reset smc, nv and so on, nothing helps.

Is there a Link, where i can download the drivers manually ?

@Loner T,

thank you for the hint, I installed iTunes and could start the Apple Software Update tool. But there is no option to install Bootclamp ?!

On the OS X Side of my MAC-Mini (late 2012) Bootcamp 6.0.0 is installed.

I downloaded Boot Camp-Support-Software 5.1.5769 and try to install this on the windows 10 side. This stopped immediately with a right problem ?!

After this I installed some driver from the subdirectory of the BCSS manually, some works, some not.

Hopefully I do not have to start Windows often 😉

The 5.1.5769 is meant for W7/W8+. W10 would need 6.x BC drivers. You can download them manually to a USB using El Capitan BC Assistant as shown.

Yes, this is my main problem (see above). Download the Support Software by this way stops after 30 minutes with "Can*t install ..."

Can you use https://github.com/timsutton/brigadier to manually download the drivers for your specific Mac model identifier using the -m qualifier?

Thank's a lot, this works ,up on the realtek audio hanging stuff. But the most driver are installed now.

Now, Windows 10 starts up from an external usb 1TB HD via USB 3 and without Bootcamp, but with the BC-drivers (Hold down ALT-Key while maci starts).

With this solution i can life.

Can you see boot camp installation hangs at realtek audio stepSearch or ask a question to resolve the RealTek issue?
