Apple Watch locked to previous owner

i Perchased a previousmy owned Apple Watch at a big box store and it. Is still attached to the previous owners account. How can I reset or remove it?

Ok so I bought a Apple Watch from a man and he used it one year and when I try to sink the apple whatch to my phone it come up a account of the owner of the Apple Watch that I bough from how do I delet the agony of of the apple watch

@Twin - was Apple able to resolve this for you and unlock the watch? I f so, did they reach out to you and let you know the watch has been unlocked OR did you just have to keep checking www.icloud.com/activationlock? The reason I ask is I am going through the exact same scenario; the original owner provided Apple with the original receipt about a day and a half ago, so I am anxiously awaiting to hear something.
