Why doesn't my iPhone data (not apps) sync to my iPad?

I want to clarify, my apps syncing is not the issue. It is the DATA in some of those apps that do not sync. For example, I have a checkbook app that I manually enter each transaction into; it's basically like an old-school check register, but on my iPhone. The app it self is on my iPad, but it does not update the date from my check register (and has never). So ultimately, if I wanted to actually see my (current) check register on my iPad, I would have to manually enter the data on the iPad, as well. Which is redundant.

Is this just how it is and I have to accept this? FYI, this does this between my iPhone and iPad **and** my fiancée's iPhone and iPad.

Thanks,

Cass

Ah...thank you so much, Brian! I'm setting that up now. However, my question now is, will it automatically update the existing apps that share data? Or the next time that sync when I charge (and I'm on Wi-Fi)?

Also, I'm curious about this scenario: I have done most of my purchases on my iPhone, and of course, those don't show up on my iPad. However, I've purchased a couple of episodes of TWD on my iPad, that don't show up on my iPhone. Will this resolve that issue?

And finally, each of us need to setup home sharing on our iPhone and our iPad? Neither of us are wanting to share our date with each other. We just want our personal iPhones and iPads to be like one.

Thanks again!

Cass
