CardDav sync issue after upgrading to 10.11.2

I also have this annoying issue, on 3 different Macs since running OSX 10.11.x. I am syncing with the Fruux carrddav service and noticed that syncing with iCloud works as a charm-- the CardDav protocol apparently somehow is broken.

Since it is an (extremely annoying) Apple bug, I hope they take care and fix it in the next OSX update (now running OSX 10.11.2).

Same thing here. El Capitan 10.11.2. Syncing with Google Contacts (tried both CardDav and standard Google Contacts configuration). Always get:

Same issue here spent an evening getting Carddav to speak to my Owncloud installation, only to find out after the first successful sync that the contact app goes crazy and fills the log with:

Same here. Beach balling in WebDAV Contacts continues with 10.11.3.

Same issue here. CardDAV account on a Synology. 10.11.3 and it's Beach ball all over the place. Impossible to edit anything. Arggh so frustrating. No problem with same account on my iPhone6.

This solved my issue.

I disabled the contacts option under the Google selection in Internet accounts in preference. I then manually added Google as a CardDav account.

Problem solved! It appears there is some sort of sandboxing configuration issue with Apple's new implementation of the "idiot proof" Google contacts checkbox. Going back to the old school way of doing it seems to have fixed the issue. Sync works fine and there are no constant denials by the sandbox daemon to look use the DNS resolver daemon, and the beach ball delay to editing, adding, or removing contacts is gone.

Same here. Errors in console.app. using 10.11.3

Same prolem here on a MacBook Pro late 2008 (8 GB RAM) and a brand new MacBook Pro Retina (16 GB RAM): Beach ball in contacts app and loads of error message in console.app.

Using Mac OS X 10.11.3. Submitted a bug report.

I can confirm though, what others have reported already: since 11.11.3 the beachball phenomenon stops if you do two things:

- reconfigure your access to Google Contacts to use *CardDav* rather than going through the default account configuration and clicking contacts in Google

- you have to allow "less secure" programs login to your google account. That's somewhere under My account -> sign in, security of your Google account.

That's all well and good but what about those of us using Baikal, ownCloud, Synology or other "do it yourself" CardDAV servers. This was never a problem in 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, 10.10 ....... not sure how such an annoying bug has persisted for so long without getting someone's attention. <sarcasm> But hey, at least we've got Pizza emojis. </sarcasm>
