iTunes match is automatically downloading songs to phone

I, too, got a log request after I filed a bug report. At least they are taking this seriously, and not simply saying that it's a duplicate. But they haven't come back to me with another request; I'll see if that happens.

Maybe this is getting ready for the 512GB and 1TB iPhone 7s that will be released this year, costing $2000 & $3000 respectively. The only way you can use iTunes match with 100,000 songs.

It's pretty clear that Apple didn't actually test any of this, considering how easy it is to break.

I can't even delete the music off my device because the storage thing keeps locking up, similar to other users.

I remember when Apple cared about quality and customer experience.

I found something that has fixed it for me (at least so far...)

I have been having seeing this issue for a few weeks, and it has burnt a hole in my data plan, so I turned off cellular data for Apple Music while I investigated the problem. Here is what I think is causing the issue for me:

Along the bottom of the screen, go to "Connect" (the symbol looks like "@")

I discovered that I was following hundreds of Artists because I had "Automatically follow artists whose music I download" turned ON...

I changed this setting to OFF, and "unfollowed" all of the listed artists.

I did this this routing several times as new artists kept popping up....

Now that this list is clear, I have had nearly a week of no unwanted music music appearing on my iPhone.

I don't follow any artists and it still happened to me.

Same here - I don't follow any artists and if I remember correctly I turned off the CONNECT features at some point. Don't think that is solution.

This doesn't seem to be working for me either, I'm afraid.

Have you tried removing songs from the downloads list (see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7372732?answerId=29576730022#29576730022)? A few people have confirmed that this works, although you will have to do it again next time you upload new songs.

II've found a solution to the problem which suits me. I've cancelled my Match subscription and disabled music altogether. I'm trying the free month with Google Play Music. If ITunes improves during this month I may consider returning. If nit I'll stay with Google and see if it's any better. Well let's face it, it cant be any worse can it!!!!!

My "solution" is similar. I returned to using Plex. It isn't perfect, but it mostly works, and their dev team communicates better than Apple.

This, and other issues I've had with Apple software lately have made me realize just how awful Apple is at communication and responding to user feedback. I don't think I want to be an Apple customer anymore.

I just received an OS X update to install but I can't read the details of what has been fixed. The link provided comes up empty. Does anyone know if there is a fix for our iMatch problem included with this update?

no fix on 10.11.3 and 9.2.1

It's not fixed in the iOS 9 .3 beta either.

If Plex only had gapless playback and some form of crossfeed...
