iPad Air 2 multitasking lag

II've updated my iPad Air 2 to 9.2. I just sat down with it after having 9.2 for a day or so and am noticing that slide over and switching between apps in the split screen lags a second or two. Ive restarted, reset, etc. No idea of this started right after my update but it's a huge pain!

any ideas?

I am seeing this too, for the slide down gesture to switch apps. The initial swipe to the left to enable split screen seems ok to me. My wife's iPad Pro is fine, but 9.2 on the Air 2 is miserable.

Plus I've noticed that the slide down gesture sends a "scroll to top" to the currently visible app, like Messages, unless you do it carefully. What I've found is I need to start the swipe down but stop very short, basically right on top of the handle, and wait until the screen eventually begins to respond. Once the multitasking gesture is visibly working, finish the swipe down.

You described exactly what I have seen, including the scroll to the top jump in messages etc. I did chat with support and we walked through everything. It was his first time seeing this post 9.2 release, but we were able to point to it being directly related to software. He was logging it all, so hopefully others are sharing this info so we see a fix for it. He checked his 9.2 iPad that he had with him and noted that there was a very slight delay, but not as severe as what I showed him via video.

I will say that every other part of the multitasking and general interactions with 9.2 are far snappier. It's just that one slide down gesture for switching apps, which stinks. Everything else is lightning fast for me.

So strange. I wonder why it's happening so sporadically, but also appears to be linked to 9.2. One support person said it's definitely related to software and to wait for a bug fix. The second informed me that it had to be hardware. Sure is interesting that there is no concensus and that it just happened. Really *****. Sometimes it's a 1-2 second lag and sometimes it's 4-5 seconds. Small thing, but the the slowdown is a constant nagging drain to getting work done.

I just had my appt at the Apple Store. They verified that it was doing what I said and were happy to replace it under my protection plan for free. The guy did verify that in store units were doing the same thing (pause for 1-3sec). I saw it in other air 2 and pro units on display, but not all. He saw this as a way to determine if it was software or hardware related. Not a big deal if it is software, just more of an annoyance. Either way, will share once I set it all up.

I'm definitely not saying that you guys are not seeing the issue but I personally am not. All Multitasking gestures you guys have described here (especially the pull down to select the app) are smooth as silk on my Air 2 16GB Wi-Fi under iOS 9.2. The linked video showing the issue is dead/invalid so I can't see it at all to see exactly what the issue is. Do any of you guys have multiple apps running (besides the ones you are multitasking)? I test with only the apps running/required for the multitasking I'm doing...I regularly do this out of habit anyways and have only one or two apps active at a time. Just a suggestion to maybe shut down all unnecessary apps from the App Switcher and test again...maybe it will help.

I'm fully up and running on the new unit with all my apps, logins, etc logged into it. I'm back to having a slight pause when switching between apps in multitasking, but again, it's only half a second or so. It seemed that as I added more and more apps the pause set in. Definitely related to iOS 9.2, but hard to even call it a bug. Given that it was seen in stores on both iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro units, it seems to be fairly widespread. I'm wondering if its appearance has something to do with the number of apps on an iPad as well, but who knows. End of the day, it's such a small thing. I'm sure people at Apple have seen it and will take care of it.

Everything else continues to be instant and blazing fast on 9.2. Happy new year's eve!

I got fed up last night and did a complete restore of my iPad via iTunes, and didn't restore from backup. Since then I've added back my most used apps, redownloaded my Photos library etc. I do notice more of a lag now that apps are installed, but it's way less than before. Perhaps more importantly, it no longer scrolls to the top of whatever the side app is when I activate the multitasking gesture.

So, for now, looks good. As for SergZak's suggestion, closing all apps doesn't seem to help, but thanks for the suggestion.

Happy New Year's Eve to yall too!
