That's not always the case in the USA! Buy something from Hawaii and you will find you are not paying the Hawaiian tax unless there is one of their stories in your state. And the tax laws read something else on the matter.

Logic would tell one that any tax would be applied according to the tax law of the country (and area) FROM where the item was SOLD.
Nor do I have any clue about tax law in general or specifically in these daze of the InterWeb Economy - especially Goods and Services Tax of Malaysia > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goods_and_Services_Tax_%28Malaysia%29 < my opportunity to 'learn something new every day' ??
