iOS 9.2 iCloud backup still not fixed!!!

So I've been plagued with the Backup could not be completed problem and I've been waiting for Apple to release a fix and I was happy to see this problem mentioned as one of the bugs dealt with in iOS 9.2, BUT it was not actually fixed!

Now my phone is not backed up at all after all Apple geniuses advised that I delete older backups from iCould and try again, my MacBook storage is too small to carry my 128gb iPhone backup and now if my phone dies for some reason all my life is gone with it, well most of it!

Tried backing up my iPhone to external storage but Apple won't let you do that cause we are freaking slaves and not free to do what we want, so now I hope they would finally listen and address this issue that has been mentioned many times before!!!!

I have been going through the exact same thing. Have tried resetting network settings, signing out and back into iCloud, soft reset, changing what is being backed up, and recently before 9.2 deleting the old backup off iCloud. Now I'm in same situation have iPhone 6 Plus 9.2 128 GB with no icloud back up saying could not complete and last backup never! I did manage to get a backup to my iMac but really really don't want to do a factory reset and restore unless I'm for sure it will fix the problem.

Apple please help. You have acknowledged the problem but apparently the attempt to correct it with 9.2 did not work.

Does it work everytime you are plugged and connected ti wifi ?

Mine worked 3 days ago and since, nothing...

And when I launch mmanually, I still have the message "last backup not completed". I have to launch it again one or two more times to achieve...

I will continue to watch, but I believe 9.3 patch has solved my server-side problem. I had previously spent several Apple Care sessions diagnosing my device-side details to no avail. Today, I installed 9.3, then immediately did a manual backup and was surprised that it worked. Please note that beforehand I did not have a backup file in iCloud, just a 0 KB corrupted but empty file. Could it be that 9.3 also deleted all these corrupted iCloud files? I sincerely believe this server corruption was my only problem.

Keep in mind as others have mentioned before, I also believe that your internet connection can affect performance. The backup is a lot of data. I can imagine that a timeout may not be handled well on the iCloud server.

Mine spontaneously started automatically backing up about a week before I installed 9.3 (I didnt know about the update until the next day or so).

I've tried running manual back ups, they work as well. I have two residences and two internet connections and during this entire thing, it generally did better on the faster, more consistent one, but that wasn't a guarantee. I can't speak for everyone, but on my end I think it was definitely an Apple side server issue, because previously it went off on even the slow and shoddy connection as well. Didn't help that the needed back up time jumped from 5-15 minutes to 45 minutes plus on a questionable connection, but again, that points back to Apple. I only tried some of the tricks posted earlier in this thread with varying degrees of temporary success and called Apple towards the beginning… the Apple rep tried to convince me that a 0kb back up was perfectly normal. I never did anything drastic, like erasing and restoring, because I had a hunch that wouldn't fix much, never changed password either. For those still having the problem, I'd try making a back up with no apps and then slowly adding them back to see what does and doesn't take and making sure that your wifi connection is up to snuff. I hate that this is still affecting some.
