Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

My new Apple TV v4 does not work smoothly on Airplay with both my MacbookPro and Air laptops but fine with iPhone and iPads Airlay gets so juddery and then the laptop WiFi connections goes off - any clues what is going on?

Devastated to find that the new AppleTV works fine on Airplay/ Mirroring with iPhone and iPad devices but completely useless on the NEW laptops.

Trying to show any video e.g. UTube immediately creates jittering on the TV screen when using the Macbook and within a short time the WiFi connection is knocked out.

What is going on?

I am using ElCapitan and the latest 15" 16GB MacbookPro i7 Macbook and was not expecting a streaming problem.

Absolutely fine on Airplay with bith an iPhone 6 Plus and also an iPad Air

That will be due to a network issue. There is a difference between mirroring a phone/tablet and pushing out a full desktop in real time

Mmake sure there is no other activity (other streaming, web browsing, network backups etc)

Try connecting Apple TV via ethernet

To see a current status of the network get a report from istumbler or similar. Look for signal strength, noise, nearby networks

Test on another network

If you re-read this thread you will find that the OP confirmed it was a network issue - not hardware or software. That said, having to reboot your router would seem to highlight that you also have a network issue...

FYI you're hearing crickets from tech support because this is a user forum rather than actually Apple support...
