I recently did the current update for the El Capitan. My Kodak EasyShare program crashes upon launch and can't send a crash report. Help anyone? Thanks.

It looks as though you need to find a different app - this is from Kodak from 2013:

I had seen that on the Kodak site. I guess I will have to find something else to use but hoping for a fix on this one.
Unfortunately, there won't be a fix if they no longer support it - Kodak would have to issue an update and they won't do that on an app they've abandoned.

Now I just need to find my photos and transfer them to another app. 😕 Kodak also stopped the support for the Windows version also.

Did you discover a way to access your photos and transfer to iPhoto or other software?

I opened "Photos" in El Capitan and ask to import, from the list on the left i clinked photos -- it went to Kodak and IPhoto and loaded all of them.

I'm used to dragging a photo someone sent me to the EasyShare icon and then being able to edit it SO simply.......easier than iPhoto. Today, it wouldn't work and I ended up at your question, along with the answers. I tried the method of clicking on Pictures and Importing the photos as was recommended, and it pulled in a bunch but not all, but I was able to find the folder with all the original photos I had taken and they're all jpg files, so I had no problem opening them just by double-clicking. The files were originally created by transferring them from my camera to the MacBook Pro and all the folders were automatically named by the date I linked the camera and computer. I'm sure they'll always be accessible, since they're just jpegs and don't need the EasyShare application to be opened. I hope I'm right!
Thank you Judyinfo and Meadow Vista Bob. I was able to import into Photos. Photos from March won't import but will find a way. Can't pull them off the memory card off the camera because they have been deleted.

I'm just wondering if this renders my camera obsolete. Can I download photos from the camera through the Apple Photos app? I haven't used my camera in a while.
Not sure about the camera going direct (it could - you can try). But it will work with you use just the memory card.

I always use a USB card reader - that works like a charm and eliminates any problems a camera might have. Easier to plug in as well.
Is that a special device? Do I take the memory card out of the camera and insert it in a special reader? I've just always used the cable, one end in the camera and one in the USB port of my laptop. Thanks for any help with specifics you can provide.
