Share to Vimeo fails HD conversion consistently
Hey folks,
In FCP X 10.2.2 there is a Share to Vimeo option that presumably has all the correct settings for Vimeo encoded to it. I understand it's really using Compressor in the background, but I have a consistent problem.
When I share to Vimeo, the file gets built and uploaded and Vimeo (because it does this natively) does some preparation to the upload. The SD version works all the time, but whatever they do to make their HD version fails. My workaround is to send to compressor and manually upload. I tried the included Vimeo up to 4K option but that failed on the Vimeo side as well. I assume that the Compressor option is the same as the Share to Vimeo in FCPX.
When I do get a file uploaded, Vimeo tells me that my video could be so much better, yada yada yada if I used their settings, but I don't know how to fix the Share to Vimeo in FCPX. I have my compressor / manual upload workaround, but it's not so handy.
Any guidance will be appreciated.
