I cannot remove same as previous from a section

Under Document Elements there is no option to select - "same as previous" I followed the guidance so far - I went to Disk Utility - there was not option to "Verify Disk" or "Repair Disk" - I ran the "First Aid" that was available. I went to the Library and moved the com.microsoft.word.plist to my desktop, but there was no com.microsoft.office.plist available. I still have no other options than "header" "footer" and "page #"

I am trying to change from a footer with Roman Numerals to a new section with numbers in the header. I just cannot get rid of "same as previous" to do it.

I have the latest version of OS X El Capitan version 10.11.2 and I just updated Office for Mac 2011.
