Hello,

Is it possible to watch a video on Apple Music in fullscreen mode?

If we can, can you explain me how to do it, please?

Best regards.

Hi GillesE,

If you are watching a music video or any type of video on your iPad, turn the device sideways to landscape mode and the video should fill the screen. When you launch the Apple Music app, tap My Music at the bottom of the screen. In the middle of the screen tap the current sorting method (Artists, Albums, Songs, etc.) and choose Music Videos from the list of options. Tap on the title of the Music video to play the video. In portrait mode, the top half of the screen shows the video, and the bottom half of the screen shows the controls. Turn the iPad to landscape mode, and the video will fill the wider screen.

I'll include a few references below for you from the iPad User Guide for Apple Music and playing videos in general.

My Music

My Music includes any Apple Music content you added, music and music videos synced to iPad, iTunes purchases, and the music you make available through iTunes Match.

User uploaded file

Browse and play your music. Tap the sorting menu to display your music by Artists, Albums, Songs, and more. Tap the album art to play a song or album. Tap the Miniplayer to display the Now Playing screen.

Save music to iPad. Tap User uploaded file next to an album, playlist, or track in My Music, then tap User uploaded file.

View only music stored on iPad. Tap My Music, tap the sorting menu, then turn on Only Downloaded Music.

Delete a song or album from My Music. Tap User uploaded file next to the song or album, then tap Delete from My Music. The item is deleted from your iCloud Music Library.

Remove a song or album stored on iPad. Tap User uploaded file next to the song or album, tap User uploaded file, then tap Remove Downloads. The item is removed from iPad, but not from iCloud Music Library.

To manage music storage on iPad, go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage > Music.

Add music to a playlist. Tap User uploaded file next to an album or track, tap Add to a Playlist, then choose a playlist.

Control playback

User uploaded file

Scale the video to fill the screen or fit to the screen. Tap User uploaded file or User uploaded file. Or double-tap the video. If you don’t see the scaling controls, your video already fits the screen perfectly.

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Judysings,

have u even tried your manual?

1. There is no such option as music videos in the drop down menu, maybe if I would have a local file but than streaming would be nonsense. Also the drop down menu is for sorting purposes and not for full screen mode on/off.

2. It's very nice to post a picture with instructions that are clearly NOT out of the Apple Music App! Mad Max is a great movie btw... Those options you usually have in all video based apps (like YT) to go full screen (arrows in the bottom right corner) is not available in Apple Music. Please check again.

3. IMHO this lack of quality Apple is providing with the Apple Music App is not very Apple like. Where is the point in watching the 2h Taylor Swift 1989 Tour in Windowed Mode On my iPad?

I'm certain Apple knows about this and maybe (who knows why) it's even intended to be like that but it's since the launch of the app and if you're asking me, it's a lot of bullsh*t Apple Hasn't fixed/changed it by now.

SOrry, if I might have been a little harsh in my choice of words but it's wasted time for everyone (yourself included) to give/read/use false instructions.
