how do i change my default printer setting for page ordering?

We have an HP Laserjet 600 on our network with Macs running El Capitan. The printer prints everything in reverse order by default - even when accessed by different users on different programs.

When we change the page order from Automatic to Normal, the problem goes away, but when you log out, it resets. Also, if you open a different program, that program again prints in reverse order...frustrating!

Any help is appreciated. thanks,

For a printer without a finisher the concept behind printing in reverse order is so that if the paper is delivered to the output tray face up, then the last page is on the bottom and the first page is on the top. So if the document is being delivered face down into the output tray then that will cause the issue. You may be able to chose this delivery option via the printers control panel menus.

If not, then you could create a Preset with the Page Order set to Normal. Simply select the Normal Page Order setting and click on the Presets drop menu and then select Save Current Setting as Preset and then give it a name, such as Normal. Then when you print from any application you just need to select this Normal preset.
