IF I TURN OFF icloud backup on my ipad does my iphone still have it

I have an iPhone 6 and an iPad Mini. My iPad says I have only 1.5 GB available for iCloud storage, but I do not want to buy more.

Can I turn off icloud storage on my iPad Mini and back it up to my computer; and leave the iCloud storage on my iPhone 6?

My iPhone has more info and just about everything that's on my iPad, so backing up both to the iCloud is just a duplication.

Each device's backup files are separate and independent on any single iCloud account. You can do anything you want regarding back up on one and it has no affect on the other's backup.

You're welcome, and I should have added that once you turn off iCloud backup on a device, be sure to then go into storage settings and delete that device's backup file to reclaim that space in your iCloud storage quota.
