I got it from downloading Adobe Java updater as well. Unbelievable that Adobe would allow for this nasty little software to get installed.

It wasn't on a website. It was the Adobe updater prompting me to update Java.

I just encountered this same problem (in 2017) after installing mac cleaner, which was a BIG mistake! Any updates in how to get rid of pop up and adware?

You should easily remove it. Just go to Finder and find your applications folder. You will see something like Mac Adware. Move it to trash. Hope this works.

I can't figure out how to get rid of these mac cleaner popups on my desktop, right hand corner of my mac monitor. It is really annoying. Thank you.

threats that were plist files, something like that, and the Malware got rid
