Charging indication while Iphone 6 is off

No iPhone model has ever displayed a charging indicator if turned off after being plugged in. if you saw that on an iPhone in the past it was either a counterfeit phone or a hacked or jalilbroken phone.

All iPhones and iPads will charge if turned off after they are plugged in. Note that if you turn the device off before plugging it in, the very act of plugging it in to an external power source will automatically turn it On.

i Don't know about the specific models sold in China as I do not live in China nor are those models sold anywhere but China.

This article indicates that some devices sold in China show the battery indicator while charging off. Maybe you had one of those phones. -AJ

You would need to have your iPhone on to get a charging indication.

I have a phone from the U.S. and if I turn the phone off on the charger it will remain black. Not all phones will show that indicator.
