iPhone icon in iTunes missing on Windows 10

I have a PC with Windows 10. I downloaded iTunes, but the icon for my iPhone doesn't show up when I connect it via USB. The PC software does recognize the phone, downloads photos, etc. But without the icon in iTunes, I can't sync my iPhone, back it up or get music on it. I have the latest version of iTunes and an iPhone 5s.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.2

  5. Click Browse my computer for driver software
  6. Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers or
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
  7. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
  8. Click Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
  9. Click Next, then Close and exit Device Manager
