change language from keyboard

I want to change from one language to another using only my keyboard.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

I don't think that's possible. You might be able to write a script that would work.

The most reliable way to switch spellcheck dictionaries is to go to Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar and do it manually.

You can also try going to system prefs/keyboard/text/spelling/setup and checking the boxes for the two languages you want and then setting it to Automatic. How well it works you have to test.

Some apps like MS Word do not use Apple stuff and have their own spellcheck settings you would have to fool with.
