iPhone - How do I pinpoint exactly what app is using Location-Based Alerts?

I can see that Compass Calibration and Location-Based alerts are using my location fairly regularly, with the status arrow showing purple nearly every time.

Compass Calibration does turn off after a while but the Location-Based Alerts stays purple pretty much all the time.

Can anyone explain how to identify the app or apps causing this? I know I can turn it off generally but I do like to leave it on for certain things.

Thanks,

Adrian.

I cannot believe no-one else is having this?

What are location based alerts and which app (3rd party or Apple) is using location services under the tab location based alerts?

Anyone?

Adrian.
