why can't i copy files to my iCloud?

this is impossible!

i use my Macbook Pro with newest OSX.

just bought 50GB of storage from iCloud.

just trying to do the simplest thing - go to the iCloud library from finder and paste the files to it.

it won't let me do anything.

from the options menu from iCloud i got all the copy\paste disabled and unclickable and the only thing i see is the iCloud logo with "store you files... blah blah".

every tutorial i see shows how simple it is to copy files and i have no idea how to proceed.

please help.

thank you

go to the iCloud library from finder and paste the files to it.

That statement doesn't make any sense. If you mean the iCloud Drive then drag the files from your hard drive to the appropriate folder here on the iCloud drive:

You can add additional folders to the iCloud Drive like I did with the OT's General Storage folder in the screenshot.

If you mean the iCloud Photo Library then that is activated in the Photos' General preference pane and then all photos in the library will be uploaded to the iCloud Photo Library online. With the iCPL it's all or nothing.

No you stated "go to the iCloud library from finder and paste the files to it" which has nothing to do with the iCloud Drive. I was trying to determine what you were referring to, the iCloud Drive or iCloud Photo Library.

Now that you've finally provided information that you haven't enabled the iCloud Drive ckuan has determined what your problem is.
