Iphone 6 not receiving texts from android phones

I have searched numerous threads concerning this issue but I am not able to find any solutions to this problem. All examples seem to be the reverse of the issue that I am experiencing. My daughter has an iphone 6 and can send texts to other iphones and android users but she can only receive texts from iphones only. Texts from android phones seem to be lost on Apple servers or something. "On the android phone it says the message was sent but yet she never receives it"

What I have tried so far:

Turned off IMessage

Reset Network Settings

Any advice or solutions?

Hello,

I am also having this issue...although, in my case the text messages from android users show up in my lock screen notifications...but not in my messages.

This is only from android users. All other non-iphone sms messages come through (from blackberry, non-android os users). Another thing that is curious...is that my carrier is indeed showing that I am receiving the messages (and it shows who from).

I feel this must be an iphone problem, as the messages are indeed appearing on my lock screen...just not my messages folder. I have an iphone6.

I have an iPhone 5S that is experiencing similar problems. Just became aware of this problem today (6/4/2017) when sending a text message to a friend with an android phone. I am able to send him text msgs and GIFs, and I receive his pictures, but I don not receive his text messages.

If you are not receiving SMS from an Android device, then you need to check with your carrier to ensure that you have an SMS plan on your account. SMS is a carrier feature, and the iPhone has no settings to control them.

SMS from non-iOS devices are a carrier specific function. There are no real settings on the iPhone that regulate SMS, except the setting for Sending as SMS, which only applies to iMessages that cannot be sent as an iMessage, and the MMS setting which will allow for MMS. Anything else is up to the carrier. Have the carrier check to see if there is an issue with the account.

She has a SMS text plan from the provider?

Is Send as SMS and MMS messaging enabled in Settings > Messages?

Was the message came from previous iPhone user that has switched to Android?

Or from all Android user?

I have no problem receiving SMS from a Samsung phone.

BTW, Android text messages do not use Apple server even if the recipient has an iPhone.

SMS is piggyback on the phone line.

Yes SMS and MMS is switched on in her settings. Both her and her sister are on family plan. Her sister has same phone with no issues. I have a galaxy S6 edge and she doesn't receive anything from me or from any other android phone for that matter.

Ok I will look into that thank you. Her sister and her are on a family plan together but her sister experiences no issues. Is SMS phone number specific or is this plan only?

Also, I have never owned an iphone in my life. This is happening with any android phone not just one that has switched from iphone to android.

SMS is tied to text plan, which must be provision properly by the telco.

Now there is something interesting. You say that someone switched from iPhone to Android. Who switched? Which daughter, the one that can no longer receive the texts? That would sound like something is going on with the number in the iMessage database. If the one that switched from iPhone to Android is having issues receiving messages, then you need to make sure that she deactivated iMessage.
