Itunes does not recognize Ipad in restore mode

My son changed the password and forgot it. My Ipad went into disable mode. When its in disable mode and I connect it (to new computer) Itunes asks to communicate with the Ipad but never connects. If can put the Ipad in restore mode ITunes doesn't recognize it at all. If I close ITunes, it will not reopen until I reset my computer.

If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled

If the iPad is still not recognized and your iTunes version is current, please go through the troubleshooting steps in the article below based on your operating system. If you are using a Windows system, please start with the section labeled If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode.
