I loaned my iPhone to someone has now 'Erased and Lost' it. They are refusing to give me the account details so I can unlock it again.

I have an iPhone 4.

I loaned it to someone and they then added it to their account.

I have now got the phone back but it is still connected to their account. However they have 'Erased and Lost' the phone.

I am now trying to reconnect it back to my Apple ID but I cannot without the details of the person who had it.

They are refusing to give me those details.

The phone was originally connected to my Apple ID so proving ownership should be quite easy (!!!!)

Give Apple a call at 1-800-MY-APPLE or make a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store, and be ready to provide proof of purchase.

Hi

Sorry but I DONT think apple will be able to help.

Your only option is to ask him to turn off find iPhone on an apple device

He has go to list of devices and remove your iPhone .

If he won't do this iphone is useless to you.

Iphone 4 is an old iPhone in tech terms upgrade if you can

To iphone 5 s 32 g is still a good iPhone

And why won't he delete the phone from his iCloud account? You loaned him the phone. Is there something more going on here that you are not telling us?

Thank you. Proof of purchase is not a problem. However, one last plea to this person came back favourably. I now have control of the phone.

Thank you. The phone was unlinked following one last plea. I just need it on a PAYG basis whilst I take a short break.

There is nothing else going on here. Just for future reference I wouldn't make a habit of questioning a persons integrity without any foundation or proof. Please see the above.

If anybody's "integrity " was being questioned, it was the person you loaned it to. But.....whatever....everything is moot now.
