Absurd: you cannot order the actual magnetic cap yourself, even to buy it which I was more than willing to do since I just lost it...my own fault. However, you must chat with tech support (don't bother trying purchase support as they don't recognize the cap and you will be automatically booted out of chat with instructions to contact tech support). After providing your Serial number (printed on the lightning tip of the pencil) tech support can order you ONE. I wanted to buy 3 so I never have to endure this ridiculous process again, but unfortunately, the tips which are hard to lose, are easy to buy, and the caps which are easy to lose, are impossible to buy. I spent 10 minutes searching apple to purchase, then another 10 minutes reading through online discussions and there was not one solution (except for 3rd party silicone caps which I already own...but I want the attractive magnetic one that came with the pencil). I wasted another minute trying to chat with purchasing support and got booted to tech support. then I spent another 10 minutes while the tech support chat person repeated all of my steps only to find, to his/her surprise that they couldn't find it either. Enter supervisor, "provide serial number and we can order one for you." After providing my Apple pencil SN, waiting...waiting...verifications....waiting...waiting...more verifications...waiting...THIS IS RIDICULOUSLY UNNECESSARY! Make sure you don't lose your connection!!!!
