MacBook Pro Mid 2010 battery replacement

Hi All;

I purchased a mid 2010 MacBook Pro 13" (2nd hand). The unit is great and was well taken care of. Only issue is the battery - it runs out and charges in an hour or so. However it starts out saying it has around 4:30 hrs.

Now! I would like to replace said battery. This I am comfortable of doing myself. My only issue is which battery? I would not trust anything from eBay. Amazon carry a good range but which brand? Any recommendations or pointers, even to other reputable suppliers, will be greatly appreciated.

Regards

I can recommend two and only two third party batteries. Nupower from OWC and Anker batteries. Anything else can be 'high' risk.

To install the battery, you need a #00 Phillips driver and a #0 Triwing driver. The Triwing may be a little difficult to get. When disconnecting the battery, do not use a metal object to pry the connection off. If you create a short circuit, you may not have a functional MBP anymore.

Ciao.
