Ipod Nano 7th generation. Equalizer setting problems.

I am trying to adjust the volume equalizer on certain songs since some songs are louder than others. I adjust the bar and hit okay. When I reopen the equalizer I see the changes did not stay and I am back to the original settings. Any help is greatly appreciated.

That is part of the problem. Most of my music on this ipod is from an old computer. Correct me if I am wrong but if I resync I will lose the music from that computer. The only solution that I have come up with is deleting that song from my ipod, looking for that cd, and recreating the mp3 and adjusting the equalizer on Itunes before putting the mp3 on my ipod. I did that today with one song and that seemed to work. Just a pain and time consuming. I really appreciate the help though. Thank you.

Ultimately, all of your songs should be in your iTunes library, not only on an iPod. iPods get broken and lost. By design, iTunes cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). However, Apple does not prevent it. There are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer music," you should get some useful link including an article by CNET on the topic.

Once the iPod's song files are on your computer, add them to your iTunes library. After confirming you have all of your songs, make whatever sound adjustments are needed, and sync your iPod. Going forward, back up your complete iTunes library data and use the backup on new computer, if old one fails.
