Lightroom crashing on 27" 5K w/ El Capitan

I'm using a brand new iMac 27" Retina (3.2 GHz i5 w/ 8 GB of RAM, 1TB HD, AMD Radeon R9 M380) with El Capitan version 10.11.2. My problem is that I can't use Adobe Lightroom for more than 5 minutes at a time without it crashing. Originally thinking it was purely a problem with Lightroom, I installed a previous version known to be stable, but it still crashed, which means it's likely an issue with El Capitan.

I've read of people having luck by reverting to previous versions of OS X, but I'm afraid to do it on a brand new computer.

Any workarounds or suggestions?

FWIW, Lightroom CC 2015.3 works fine for me on my late 2013 27" iMac

and OSX 10.11.2. So, there is not inherently a problem with El Capitan

in general.

Do you have a previous version of Lightroom or Photoshop installed? There have been reports

of having older versions causing issues with newer versions (even though Adobe says that you can

have multiple versions installed), especially if non-CC and new one is CC.

Do you have any sort of antivirus app installed? These can generally cause issues.

BTW, you cannot install a version of OS X that is older than the version

your computer shipped with.

BTW, when it does crash, was there any crash dialog box displayed or did

it just simply quit? If it happens again, if there is a crash dialog box displayed,

you may want to try and post the contents (if it is more than just an "unexpectedly quit").

Also, if it does crash again and there is no dialog box displayed, note the time it

happened and open Applications->Utilities->Console. Select a"All Messages" and scroll through to

the time of the crash and look for some error message(s). Also, under "User Diagnostic reports" there

may also be a .crash report. It may or may not be useful to post the top portion of it

as well (all down to where there is a line Thread...).

I spoke too soon. It's still crashing.

Here's the system log for the most recent crash:
