ICHAT AV & KYE 320S USB Webcam

I installed this low cost "genius" (25US$) webcam and it works fine with the IChatUSECam driver but I cannot "zoom out" so only a close up of my face is visible..

This is obviously better than nothing and a great economical solution, but it would be really nice to be able to zoom out just a little... I get the sam eproblem with yahoo messenger and MSN on mercury messenger.

I tried all the settings but have I missed something?

Any help gratefully received 🙂

Hi Ian,

Did this come with Mac Drivers ?

That might give control in some apps.

Also does the other Utility iGlasses help ?

Any extra controls added by either utility are likely to be in the ichat Video menu.

Many thanks for your helpful reply.

The unit does come with MAC drivers (it has the MAC logo on the packaging as well) and installs easily... Just plug and play!

Apps like Yahoo messenger work instantly but iChat needed the ichatUSB utility to make it work.

I cannot set the resolution higher than 320 x 240 and with the camera about a foot away (hooked onto the monitor) only my face is visible... I emailed Genius (the manufacturers) and they say they dont have a solution yet.

Of course it would be okay if I could put it about 3 feet away but the monitor is next to a wall.... mmm

Its a really nice looking camera.... like a small iSight infact.

HI Ian,

If it came with it's own software does this mean you can get it to do the functions you think it should ?

If so can you use this to create a sort of preset before using iChat ?

Are the Functions reduced in the Mac software ?
