Hello - I've been having this issue for a while now.. For years I was able to export ProRes master from FCPX and the resulting file would playback fine on the KiPro. Then once I updated to 10.2 back in Apr '15 the audio stopped playing back on the KiPro... When that happened, I started exporting from FCPX via Compressor and the files worked. Now all of a sudden since latest update (10.3 fcpx and corresponding Compressor update) files again no longer work (no audio playback on KiPro), even when exporting via Compressor.

Very annoying. I am now having to export master, then re-encode with Media Encoder to get the files to playback properly on the KiPro.

Did you ever find another solution other than using Media Encoder, or get any answers from AJA or Apple in regards to this issue?

You can search for the KiPro unit here and see what turns up but it's highly specialized, not a common setup. I'm guessing the AJA user forums, if they have any, will be a better resource.

What worked for me was to run it through Compressor. If you don't want to compress the file further, select video pass-through, and then change the audio to 24 bit (default is 16).
