setting FDN numbers

Can anyone help with setting fixed dial numbers on phone. I am trying to provide my young son with Down Syndrome with his own phone but we need to ensure that he only dials numbers within his family group. Although I have been able to identify the FDN on the sim once switched on I cannot see how to add the fdn numbers.

I am not aware of any channel of communication between an iPhone and a Fixed Dial Number feature on a SIM card.

I've not only checked Apple's literature on this subject, but also my cellular carrier (AT&T). AT&T lists other cellular telephones (such as Motorola FLIPOUT (MB511) as supporting FDN, but the iPhone is not listed.

So I suggest you check with your cellular carrier, and make sure this feature is supported by:

That carrier (it very likely is supported by them, as I suspect they gave you the SIM card); and
An iPhone on their cellular network (I strongly believe this is not supported).
