OS X and Roxio Toast 8

I can still use Roxio Toast 8 on OS X 10.6.8.

Does anyone use or know if Toast 8 will still work on both OS X 10.8, 10.9 and, perhaps with OS X 10.11 El Capitán?

I have, yet tried this myself, but just would like know from users who maybe still using an older version of Toast.

I have an opportunity to purchase a new in box Toast 12 for about $30 that is supposed to still work with 10.6.8, but will also work up to OS X 10.9.

I am just wondering if I need to this or if I would be wasting $30 bucks for no reason if the older version I have will still work.
