How can I view an email address without opening the email?

How can I view an email address without opening the email? I want to know who is sending me spam so I can block it without opening the email.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Just FYI, i tested this and with it NOT checked, it displays only the address book name, not the actual address.

Thanks for responding. When I go to "Message" the two choices ("All Headers" and "Raw Source") are greyed out.
