Macbook pro 2010 Only charges when powered off...

I have a macbook pro mid-2010 and only charges when powered off. Switched on, the green light stops and switched off, the green / amber light starts.

That is not a problem... But when the power is connected, the power source only says Battery, not charger.

Tried another charger, same result, reset SMC, PRAM.

What I would like is that it only works on power, no battery.

No spills, shocks. no damage, regular usage etc. Thanks!

Maybe your charger but probably your battery.

OK, battery is used, but still good it seems.🙂

Charger is not suspect because same issue with other charger.🙂

What I have seen several times:😎

a broken or damaged pin in the Mac charger connection port. But even ofter that a good cleaning of the charger connector and carger connection port of the mac solved this issue. You don't see dust or dirt or fine metal dust, but that does not say anything: clean with asoft dry brush, and conpressed air. check for damaged pins in both connecting parts.

You are a Genius... for now... Thanks... four Q-tips, first run powered off with some drops of alcohol, then next with two drops Wd-40.
