My Nano Wont Charge

When I try to charge my Nano 1st Gen., first the apple logo comes up on my screen, and then it shuts off, and the apple logo reappears, then it shut off again.. and it keeps repeating. I tried different cable, different computer, and tried resetting and reinstalling latest version of itunes, but nothing helps. How do I fix this?

have you tried putting your nano into disk mode? because something similar to this happened to one of my teachers at school and i reset it like 6 times while it was connected to the computer in his classroom. when it was plugged in it showed the monochrome non animated dead battery sign. when i finally found out how to put the ipod into disk mode all of the sudden it was recognized by the computer and started charging. but when i unplugged it after being partially charged the battery started depleteing after 10-15 mins. but then i plugged it back in it was fine. (like expected)i told him to take it home and plug it in to his wall charger for a couple of hours.

if your ipod nano is not recognized by the computer. then reset a couple of times by using the combination Menu+Center button. and then just as the apple sign shows up then keep your finger on the center button and use your other finger to push down Play/Pause. this will put your ipod into disk mode. ( do this all while your nano is plugged in to your computer.)

I hope my input helps.
